7C LATIN EXAM, MICHAELMAS TERM 2011

THE EXAM

The exam will be a CE Paper (Level 2) and will consist of the following:

• A Latin passage, approximately 8 lines long with English comprehension questions. This passage should not be translated

• A passage of Latin approximately 10 lines long to be translated into English

• Approximately 8 grammar questions. These will include two sentences to translate from English into Latin.

· A short test section on the vocabulary you have learnt this term (see “What to revise” below).

· A short essay style question based on the passage of Latin. You will be asked to give your opinions about one of the characters in the Latin passage.

NOTE: You will get some additional vocab help in the exam because we have not covered all of the vocabulary yet

WHAT TO REVISE

• You should revise as much CE vocabulary as possible especially the words which you have learnt for tests this term: CE Vocabulary list, p2 column 2: numquam-ubi

• All verb tenses on the Level 1 verb tenses sheet. Don’t forget to learn these tenses for “SUM” as well

· All noun declensions on the Level 2 nouns sheet  (except "nomen" which we will learn after the exam)
